Learning in Primary
In the Primary cycle, our students follow a broad and balanced curriculum. The main areas of focus are the mother tongue or dominant language (Language 1), mathematics, and the second language (L2). In addition, the students have lessons in Art, Music, Physical Education, Discovery of the World, European Hours, and Religion.
First foreign language (L2)
All students choose their first foreign language, also known as language 2 or just L2, in Primary 1 (P1).
Here at European School Copenhagen, we offer the three L2 languages: English, German, French.
The choice of L2 is particularly important as the students will be taught some of their subjects (e.g. Human Science, Geography, and History) in their L2 from Secondary 3 and up.
